Narragansett Boat Club (NBC) juniors seeks to create and empower a generation of highly successful athletes through the development of a strong work ethic, a true accountability to self and teammates and by fostering a desire to compete at the highest level. Narragansett juniors believes that all athletes are capable of success within a supportive team environment and strives to build a community where people can see their full potential in the sport of rowing. Narragansett juniors is a community of people committed to success through value-oriented practice.
Fall season kicks off the rowing calendar with a solid training foundation. This is the start of the competitive year with fall racing focusing on longer races at regional regattas. Fall begins September 2nd and runs through November 21st.
Winter training is a key block in developing as an athlete and racer. The winter season focus is building strength and fitness within the team atmosphere. The training is land-based and utilizes a combination of the rowing machine, weights, stationary bikes, and body weight exercises. The winter season will run December 1st through February 13th. The first block of training is 3-days/week and will move to 5-days/week schedule on January 5th, 2026.

This is what we train for. Spring is our championship season where the racing shifts to sprint distance. Our focus is building towards regional and national championships. A key component is fostering a team atmosphere where each athletes' success is integral to the team as a whole.
Spring Season: March 2nd-May 17th
Summer on the Seekonk is the best! We transition to morning practice and work on technical skills, hone racing ability, develop new athletes and further team bonds. Athletes can choose to row with our competitive summer racing team to race at select national and international regattas or continue to develop their technique through our summer camp and development team offerings.
